Wound Care

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Memorial Wound Center is an outpatient program for the treatment of chronic non-healing wounds.  Patients range in age from adolescent to geriatric.  The Center is located at the Memorial Healthcare Plaza next door to Memorial Hospital.  Clinic hours for physicians are 8:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 4:00 pm.  Nurse visits are done between clincs as needed when established patients need dressing changes, additional education, etc.

The value of a wound treatment center is based on early intervention, improved healing rates, reduced amputations, reduced disability and overall multi-disciplinary case management.  Wound management promotes wound healing and homeostasis, prevents infection and further trauma, and maintains skin integrity.  Our intent is to medically manage our patients and to choose the most effective treatment option based on a total comprehensive approach.  Each patient is different and the management program selected is individualized to both the patient and the cause of the wound.  Proper assessment and documentation, combined therapies, appropriate product selection, and medically managing our patients help lead to successful healing outcomes.

Patients with the following wound types will be clinically evaluated for receiving services in the Center:

  • Pressure
  • Neuropathic
  • Ischemic
  • Venous Stasis
  • Traumatic
  • Surgical
  • Diabetic
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Peristomal Skin Disorders
  • Vasculitis
  • Radiation Tissue Damage
  • Chronic, Non-Healing Wounds
